Is Dan Brown, author of "The Da Vinci Code" right
about the Bible?
Does the "Gospel of Thomas" portray the same Jesus
as the New Testament?
Is there any helpful historical information about Jesus of Nazareth that we can learn from this document?
Welcome to our latest addition to the series: "Ancient Non-Christian Sources for Jesus of Nazareth", in which we aim to answer these and other questions as we discuss 2 very interesting historical documents, the "Gospel of Thomas" and the "Treatise on Resurrection".
These are both documents from the non-orthodox/heretical 1st century group known as the "Gnostics", who pursued secret occultic spiritual knowledge. Though they present a different Jesus that the historical personage of the 4 Gospels, they are still very interesting and useful for the historical references they contain regarding the person of Jesus of Nazareth.
Enjoy, and remember to have an Intelligent Faith!
PS - If you haven't done it yet, download the book chapter I've been discussing from Dr. Gary Habermas. You can get it from his website archives HERE.
