Does Richard Dawkins have a good critique in his book "The God Delusion"
Do we need to first know the origin of an architect in order to accept the reality of his designs, as Dawkins seems to suggest?
In this short but lucid video, Dr. William Lane Craig gives an insightful and shattering critique of one of Richard Dawkins' central themes in "The God Delusion". Dawkins seems to imply that in order to accept the legitimacy of a discovered artifact (say an arrowhead) being designed, we must first know the origin of the agents of design. This critique would unfortunately result needing to know the infinite regress of designers, in to be able to accept any design as legitimate.
It appears that, though they may be highly trained in certain areas of biology or neuroscience, many of today's "New Atheist" are completely lacking in the most basic philosophical training. This apparently results in most of them making very fundamental mistakes in their thinking, especially when speaking about God and metaphysical issues.
